Contemporary witnesses were at the centre of the multi-year international project CINEMASTORIES OF WWII. Together with four other partners from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Croatia, Holocaust survivors and other witnesses of the Second World War as well as their descendants were interviewed. The Bautzner Straße Dresden Memorial conducted 14 interviews.

The aim of the overall project was to show the relevance of eyewitness interviews for understanding historical events. For this reason, a film was made in each participating country in which contemporary witnesses talk about their experiences of National Socialism and the Second World War.
